No matter the condition, whenever you compromise God’s standard because you want to be understandable or not to be offensive, too strict or restrictive, you are already living in satanic deception par excellence.

SUBTOPIC: The peril of Pressure (2)
I said in the previous edition that Pressure is of the devil, he only gathered pressure around you to lead you into deception so as to destroy your eternity and rob you of your destiny
Do you know pressure is one of the weapon devil used to bring Saul against God? Let us hear Saul himself;
“And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering. And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him. And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash; Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.” 1Sam.13:8-11 KJV

The first sin Saul ever committed as a king was committed as a result of responding to pressure, he dabbled into an assignment he was not commissioned to do because people placed a powerful and persuasive demand on him. Adam Clarke’s Bible commentary has this to say about the above passage;
“Verse 12: I forced myself] It was with great reluctance that I did what I did. In all this Saul was sincere, but he was rash, and regardless of the precept of the Lord, which precept or command he most evidently had received, 1Sa 13:13. And one part of this precept was, that the Lord should tell him what he should do. Without this information, in an affair under the immediate cognizance of God, he should have taken no step”.
Whenever you are under pressure to do something, be aware that the devil is in the business of pushing you against God. In fact, you need to avoid making fundamental decision that has to do with your Christian walk whenever you are under pressure.
Devil did not stop there with Saul, he kept on creating occasions for Saul to act under pressure since he (devil) had learned by experiment that Saul is ignorance of its consequences. At another time, the scripture says concerning Saul;
“And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.” 1Sam.15:20-24 KJV

It was Saul’s consequential action to pressure that destroyed God’s interest in him and made God regretted making him king. May God’s interest in your life never be destroyed in Jesus name. Stop acting under pressure, whenever you are under pressure to do something, the best thing you are to do is to forget about it and give it time. In fact, don’t bother yourself to pray about it at that time, because you may end-up hearing the voice of the pressure thinking you are hearing the voice of God.
Another ways by which we place ourselves under pressure to live in deception is by being too accommodative and understandable, Saul said;
“I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.” 1Sam.15:24 KJV
He knew their demand was wrong, but he was trying to be understandable, he was like some pastors, who pamper sin and sinners because they want to secure their church members, so as to be able to preached the truth to them latter. He was like some serious Christians who shared in the illegal money or joined the scorners to mock the righteous activities or talked down the right behavior of some godly ones as an old school style because they don’t want to seem too strict…
No matter the condition, whenever you compromise God’s standard because you want to be understandable or not to be offensive, too strict or restrictive, you are already living in satanic deception par excellence. So, be determined to make Jesus your everything. otherwise, you will constantly find yourself under pressure to live in the deceptions of the devil.
