CROSSING THE BRIDGE OF YOUR LIMITATIONS PART 4 Olawale Ojewumi

One of the problems with the new generation style of Christianity is that we always struggle to improve on our good traits, leaving our weaknesses untouched, but little do we know that the weak point you refuse to pay attention to can be used of the devil against you on your way to destiny.

I said in the concluding part of the last edition that crossing the bridge of your limitations demands for you conquering the internal enemies of your life. God will never entrust His precious resources to anyone He has no prove of his victory in the battle. He will never back-up any life that will trade His precious resources with the devil, one of the things that can guarantee God’s approval in your life for a fulfilled destiny is your ability to conquer your internal enemy.
The angel of the LORD said;
“… the lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valor”
The Greek word translated “mighty” here is “gibbôr gibbôr” ( i.e ghib-bore’, ghib-bore), which means “powerful”; by implication warrior, tyrant: – champion, mighty (man, one), strong (man), valiant man. Referring to somebody as a champion or warrior depicts that the person has conquered a particular battle in the past. The implication is that Gideon has proved himself to God on former occasion, as a conqueror.
He has fought and conquered a particular battle previously which makes God behold him as a warrior. He has fought the battle between his will and God’s will, between the comfort of his flesh and the prodding of the spirit, between God’s desire and his feelings, battles between civilization and God’s ancient standard. Until you are able to conquer in these battles, you can not conquer in the battle field of life, because the devil will always attack you at your point of weakness.
One of the problems with the new generation style of Christianity is that we always struggle to improve on our good traits, leaving our weaknesses untouched, but little do we know that the weak point you refuse to pay attention to can be used of the devil against you on your way to destiny. Honesty, you may not always be rewarded for your good deeds but you will definitely be demoted for your weaknesses and mistakes. Your boss may not always give you commendation letter for reporting to the office by 7a.m instead of the official resumption time of 8a.m, but I assure you that you will be given a query letter to explain the reason for your lateness anytime you report late.
The situation is similar in our spiritual walk. Judas Iscariot became Jesus treasurer because of his good attributes, he was a good manager; any money you put in his custody can never depreciate, he doesn’t spend money on things that will not bring increase; “Mary took a pound of ointment of pure liquid nard [a rare perfume] that was very expensive, and she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped them with her hair. And the whole house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. BUT JUDAS ISCARIOT, THE ONE OF HIS DISCIPLES WHO WAS ABOUT TO BETRAY HIM, SAID, WHY WAS THIS PERFUME NOT SOLD FOR 300 DENARII [A YEAR’S WAGES FOR AN ORDINARY WORKMAN] AND THAT [MONEY] GIVEN TO THE POOR (THE DESTITUTE)?” Joh.12:3-5 AMP
What a resources manager! Immediately he looked at the woman, the creative ideas on how to manage the money flows but the weakness in his life never allow him to benefit humanity with his potentials and gifts. Don’t joke with your weaknesses, don’t handle them with maturity. No matter how resourceful and gifted you are, if you don’t establish a deeper walk with the Lord to work over your weaknesses, you may end up as another negative history to generations, may that never be your portion in Jesus name.
